Deadline Extended for SIEGE Investment Conference

Entrepreneurs in Interactive Media and Related Industries have until Sept. 15 to Apply for the 7th Annual SIEGE Investment Conference October 6th.

ATLANTA – The deadline for producers of interactive media to pitch their next big business idea to a top-tier panel of over 40 judges of investors and industry experts in Atlanta has been extended to Sept. 15. The competition is open to creators of all types of entertainment, games, interactive media, virtual reality, related hardware, and companies that support all the above.

Of the pool of applicants, eight (8) to ten (10) will be selected.  The selected entrepreneurs receive the opportunity to pitch to the investors on the panel, to receive feedback from the judges at the conference and to receive additional free consultation regarding legal, tax and business matters. Additionally, the highest-rated startup currently lacking outside investment wins $1,000. Teams accepted pitch get free admission to the Investment Conference and discounted registration for the main SIEGE conference.

In May, the governor of Georgia signed a bill that makes it easier for producers of interactive media, including video game development companies, to qualify for tax incentives that can be as high as 30% of expenditures.  These changes greatly increase the potential value, and substantially reduce the risk, of investments in interactive media development companies based in Georgia.

The SIEGE® Investment Conference is part of SIEGE® (the Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo) which will be held Oct. 5-8, 2017, at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria, 200 Interstate North Circle SE in Atlanta.

Past presenters have included Rockin’ Finance, Cogent Education, Crank Media Intelligence, Ker-Chunk Games, MPact Games, Puzzles by Joe and World’s Fastest Drummer.

Mentoring is available to applicants, who can apply online at https://siegecon.net/investment-conference/.

Founded in 2005, the Georgia Game Developers Association is a nonprofit trade association of businesses and professionals for the video and electronic game manufacturing industry of Georgia.
